Anti Material Rifle Fallout New Vegas
Nov 16, 2010 » Fallout: New Vegas. To be purchased anywhere. 6000 caps really is not that much in this game after you have played for a while.
I was curious what is the quickest way to acquire the anti-material rifle. I have read and seen many posts and youtube vids of simply purchasing from gun-runners or killing NCR veterans, but nothing about just simply finding the weapon somewhere in the world that is accesible from a very low level in the game. I would love to build a sniper character and acquire it before taking part in any of the main quest is possible. I have the YCS/186 gauss rifle and it rocks, but I want the anti-material rifle for just the coolness factor.Posts: 3552 Joined: Mon Aug 27, 2007 10:14 pm.
Headrush bluetooth speaker drivers for mac. It is one of the few weapons you have to level to get.Eitherway, it is far from good, so why bother?I agree, that the AMR is not that great compared with other sniping tools. I personally would like to suggest the Sniper Rifle instead, and I would like to provide a quick recap for yall on where to find one laying around for free at early levels (at the end of my rant). There are hypes on the internet for this weapon (the AMR), You Tube, character building guides based on the weapon, even in the game some NPCs would comment on how the ARM is great against Deathclaws. Look at this video making the AMR looks lovely: when I eventually got it in my mid twenty for my Very Hard and hardcoe game to hut Dethclaws, I was dis-pointed because of the following reasons:1) Slow reload time and firing rate.Even though I believe the AMR is more powerful in single shots than some other sniping tools in the game, this effects DPS. He didn't ask for your opinions on the AMR, he asked where one could be acquired. The only way to get it is to hit level 16 and buy it from the Gun Runners (7,000ish, depending on your barter) or have gotten far enough in the main story to be spawning Veteran NCR Rangers.People are free to share their views here on the forum as long as it's constructive and obliged to the forum rules.
The comments have been posted thus far on the thread has been contributive to the community in relate to the AMR.On the other hand, in attempt to preventing this does not make you become higher of value. I suggest to approach the community with a less anti social manner in the future.Posts: 3337 Joined: Sun Sep 30, 2007 2:13 am. It's one of those weapons that isn't placed in the world right at the start. Then again there is no point in having the gun in the game world at the start.Nevermind that once I solved the riddle of.45-70 Gov't ammo (pickpocket cases) the AMR has been retired from my line up and a Brush Gun now takes it's place as the Deathclaw killer.Pickpocket is a great way to build up amo stocks but I haven't found any good sources for.45-70 yet tell me more please, pretty pleasePosts: 3454 Joined: Tue Jul 11, 2006 1:05 pm. I will no longer attempt to raise my value above everyone else with unnecessary posts and will always double check with you before I post anything from now on.The only reason that I brought it up is because it almost always devolves into people bashing the AMR, comparing it the the sniper rifle, and arguing with the occasional guy who tries to defend it. He did not ask for a comparison between the two, he asked where an AMR could be aquired early on.
Shredder decal for mac. So, if anything, said posts would not contribute to the topic at hand and would therefore be unnecessary themselves. Also, your grammar svcks.Posts: 3381 Joined: Tue Aug 08, 2006 11:58 pm. Go to camp golf, or any ranger station near the river, after the Veteran Rangers show up and just pickpocket the empty cases. Not only will you never fail the pickpocket but also won't lose any karma. Then all you need to do is fill them at a reloading bench. The SWC hand-load, despite the abuse to the gun itself, just crushes deathclaws when loaded into a Brush Gun. Let's just say me and Raul are BFFs now.Posts: 3480 Joined: Tue Dec 05, 2006 8:52 pm.

When you can find a NCR ranger station like Delta I think you may find a Vet Ranger.
But they may be correct at lv being the key to getting one. However if you do find a NCR Vet Ranger in black armor provoke him shoot gun from his/her hand holster yours and quickly pick it up. Hope you are cool with NCR so they don't kill you if you’re not wearing high protection. Also I have 9k at lv 5 since I ran to the strip and went gambling. Already have Merc Comb V2 and Victoria. Just sell everything, keeping only what you need and caps are quick to comePosts: 3361 Joined: Sun May 27, 2007 7:22 pm. I love my AMR!!!! It is my favorite gun.Probably because a friend of mine has one very similar to it and I have shot it a few times.
Sure, it is huge, and unweidly, and quite frankly can't be used unless it is on a bipod or tripod because otherwise you would never be able to aim it. However until you have shot one in real life and experienced the sound, the force and see first hand what it does to things you shoot (if you can find them afterward). Just makes me all giddy and tingly inside.Sure, there may be better guns in the game, but, they ain't a 50 Cal.Posts: 3327 Joined: Wed Apr 04, 2007 4:51 am.
Contents.BackgroundUtilizing an ergonomic, metallic skeleton design with a free floating barrel, the anti-materiel rifle is a bolt-action, high caliber precision weapon intended for use against materiel and hard targets. The rifle includes a deeply fluted barrel to disperse heat and reduce weight, while its large muzzle brake reduces recoil to manageable levels. Unlike most rifles, the AMR was designed from the ground up to be used at long and extreme ranges: It lacks any kind of sights, featuring instead a mounting rail for high powered scopes and a forward bipod mount. The rifle in all of its glory. This high end weapon is intended for use at long range distances, due to its weight, size, and recoil. It offers a very high rating, among the highest in the game, and excellent accuracy. Coupled with its 3.13x scope, it's among the best long range weapons available to a marksman. When loaded with match-grade rounds, it offers the highest long range accuracy in the game, up to 95% in V.A.T.S.
At extreme ranges.Of course, as a dedicated heavy sniper rifle, it has a number of drawbacks. It has a low fire rate and has to be manually rechambered after each shot, it and its ammo weigh a lot (the weapon alone weighs 20 pounds, with a loaded 8 round magazine an additional 2), and the sheer power of the round puts a lot of stress on the weapon, necessitating frequent repairs. A fully repaired rifle can fire 471 rounds before breaking, which translates to a loss of 0.2% durability per shot, or 17/18 caps in terms of repair.Interestingly, when the AMR is fired from the hip, the recoil will push the operator back.
