First, my disclaimer: I strongly recommend you do some research to find out what mastering is, what tools are used, why they are used, and what to listen to in order to make sure you don't wreck your mixes with poorly-applied processing. There are a lot of links out there on Google if you search for something like 'mastering tutorial'.With that said, there are a few mastering bundles that include most of what you will need to turn your final mixes to a more polished product:.Certainly, this list is not exhaustive. These products will have an EQ, multiband dynamics, a limiter, a harmonics warmth section, and some stereo field effects that. They are very powerful, so they can either make your mixes shine even brighter, or they can completely destroy any dynamics and feeling in your mix. Aerofly fs 2 add ons.

Most contain a set of presets that try to help you get 70% of the way towards the sound you're going for. Ozone, which I use, has a lot of genre-specific presets that do a decent job. But they are not going to do the job for you. You still need to know how to use them and why they work.My general recommendation, not even talking about the concept of 'mastering', is to learn how to use a compressor effectively.

That, combined with effective EQ, is the most important tool you will use when building up mixes that stand up to the pros. Use Marvel to match your tunes spectrum to a professionally mastered track. This technique will give you a rough idea of what needs to be done to your stuff to make it sound sweeter.I'd also recommend investing in a nicer vocal mic. The vocals in moms cooking sound a little thin and raspy and in a tune like that the vocal quality is paramount.Oh and read up on compression and EQ, especially compression, it will seem like a dark art at first, but once you get the hang of it your mixes will start to pop, without sounding squashed. My usual process is this. Record vocal track, apply EQ effect with preset named, 'Basic High Boost', apply compression effect with preset, 'The Big Easy' (which has controls set to these levels, ), apply an effect called Classic Master Limiter (which from my knowledge makes anything that's clipping, not clip)Everything after that is different depending on the style of needs of the track.

But the process above describes my usual approach to every vocal track I do to make it sound, as I would describe it, clean. I'm looking into learning how to use my spectrum results as applicable knowledge on what needs to be cleaned up though, so hopefully I can have a more informed/methodical process.
